Katie Geneva Cannon (born January 3, 1950) is a Christian theologian associated with womanist theology and black liberation theology.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Katie Geneva Cannon )〕 ==Education and career== Cannon spent her childhood in Kannapolis, North Carolina. She received a bachelor's degree from Barber-Scotia College, a master's of divinity degree from Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary in Atlanta, and M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from Union Theological Seminary in New York.〔 She is currently the ''Annie Scales Rogers Professor for Christian Ethics'' at Union Presbyterian Seminary. Previously Cannon has served on the faculties of Temple University, Episcopal Divinity School, and Harvard Divinity School. Cannon was the first African-American woman to be ordained as a minister in the Presbyterian Church.〔〔 The American Academy of Religion honored Cannon with its 2011 Excellence in Teaching Award.〔
